During the 2020 pandemic, I set out to complete my graduation project for the University of California, Santa Barbara. The pandemic occurred shortly after the October 17th revolution in Lebanon. This documentary was a collaborative testimonial of the people's sentiment towards a failed revolution and a life threatening pandemic.
Confinement made filming hard but allowed for the research for archival footage, both during and post October 2019. I reached out to videographers who were present on the ground during the ongoing revolution. My understanding of the production pipeline was deconstructed due to the nature of the documentary and its environment. The documentary was circulated on instagram and gained significant momentum of 25k views during its first week published online.
To the Nation
meet the crew
This documentary allowed me to work with some brilliant activists, musicians, and videographers. While most were scattered around the world, the need for the Lebanese diaspora to join my virtual crew was necessary for the completion of the film.
